Based on loving Meals
As Lao Dong reported, the heavy rain from July 31 to August 2 caused flash floods and terrible landslides, causing heavy damage to people and property in many mountainous communes of Dien Bien province.
Sharing the difficulties with people in flash flood and landslide areas, these days from all over the country, organizations, unions and many volunteer groups have traveled hundreds of kilometers to bring relief goods to people in flooded areas.

Amidst that countless hearts, the mobile rice stove of the Da Nang City Heart Association has become a warm support for the people here.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tu - Head of the Club - said that the group of 7 members had been present in Xa Dung commune since August 7, and officially caught fire (August 8) to serve people in disadvantaged villages such as Phi Nhu A, Phi Nhu B, Hang Pu Xi... affected by floods.

Every day the Club serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with more than 2,000 meals. This is where we were "broken" in the quantity of meals, the brothers had to work hard" - Mr. Tu said.
According to the Club President, to have the meals delivered to the people in time, some members had to wake up at 1:30 am to cook the first batch of rice. Fortunately, the taste of the Mong people here is quite simple, so creating a menu and coordinating food is quite favorable.
Stay to listen and accompany
To operate a mobile rice stove in the flooded area is not a simple problem. Food sources are mobilized from many places, vegetables are imported from Dien Bien, rice is transported from Can Tho, and seafood is imported from Da Nang...
"The kitchen is operated mainly on physical items supported by benefactors, agencies and organizations nationwide. We have built a network called 'Vietnam Zero-dong Kitchen System', connecting volunteer clubs into a united bloc - Mr. Tu revealed.
As a child born and raised in the Central region, Mr. Tu understands more than anyone the pain and hardship of the people every time natural disasters pass.

"The process of cleaning up the backstage after the flood is really difficult, sometimes lasting a month. That is the time when people need help the most. Therefore, we come and stay to serve the people until life is stable again" - Mr. Tu affirmed.
For Mr. Tu and the members, the kitchen is not just for giving away free meals. That is a "way" to approach, understand and help people in the most real way. Thanks to that, know what people really need, what support do charity groups want to give...
According to Mr. Tu, after the rice cook completes his mission and withdraws (expected on August 20), he will synthesize the needs of the people and return to Dien Bien.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Sung A Mang - Chairman of Xa Dung Commune People's Committee - said that the presence of the rice kitchen during these days is extremely valuable. Hot meals not only help people feel full but are also a great source of spiritual encouragement for people to soon stabilize their lives.
"As of the afternoon of August 14, the rice stove has supported a total of 14,050 meals for the people" - Chairman of Xa Dung Commune People's Committee emphasized.
In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.
"A piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full", with the spirit of mutual love that has always been a beautiful image of the Vietnamese people, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund calls on domestic and foreign philanthropists to join hands to share with people affected by floods.... to soon stabilize their lives.
The Golden Heart Social Charity Fund would like to sincerely thank the precious feelings of agencies, businesses, and domestic and foreign philanthropists.
