On August 13, the Labor Federation working delegation led by Mr. Tan Minh Long - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dien Bien province visited the family of the heroic martyr Pham Van Cuong in Hai Phong.
This is a practical activity to express gratitude and promote the tradition of "Remembering the source of drinking water" on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).
At the martyrs' families, on behalf of the working group, Mr. Tan Minh Long kindly asked about the health and lives of the members, and expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifice for the Fatherland, for the peace and happiness of Heroic martyr Pham Van Cuong.
The Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor affirmed that in recent years, union members and workers in Dien Bien province have always deeply carved and remembered the great contributions and blood sacrifices of Heroic martyr Pham Van Cuong in the fight against drug crimes, protecting the peace of Dien Bien border.
Heroic martyr Pham Van Cuong - an officer of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Lai Chau Provincial Police, now Dien Bien Provincial Police) heroically sacrificed himself when he and his teammates solved the case and dismantled a transnational drug ring from the Golden Triangle area through Laos to Vietnam.
Heroic martyr Pham Van Cuong (born on August 3, 1976, hometown of Hai Phong city) died on October 6, 2001, at Km 17 - National Highway 279 (Na Hai village, Sam Mon commune, Dien Bien province).
Previously, on July 23, Dien Bien Provincial Police held the inauguration ceremony of the Pham Van Cuong Heroic Martyr Memorial Area built at Km 17 - National Highway 279 (Na Hai village, Sam Mon commune, Dien Bien province).
The project has a total investment of 2.5 billion VND. The entire budget was contributed by officers and soldiers of Dien Bien Provincial Police with the support of a number of organizations, individuals and enterprises.
