This is an annual activity organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Navy from 2012 to present. This year's program has the participation of more than 60 overseas Vietnamese delegates from 24 countries and territories.
With the theme "The Great Unity Train", this year's journey conveys the aspiration for a prosperous, sustainable, and united Vietnam - where overseas Vietnamese and domestic compatriots are united and join hands for the future of the country.
In Hai Trinh, the delegates visited the islands of Da Thi, Sinh Ton, Co Lin, Len Dao, Da Tay A, Truong Sa Lon and DK1/8 Queen Rig. Delegates participated in meaningful activities such as visiting, giving gifts, cultural exchanges with the people on the islands; visit schools, houses, pagodas and stations in floating islands; Attending the inauguration ceremony of Rainbow Park in Da Tay A Island; Attending the Memorial Ceremony of Martyrs in Gac Ma Island area; Offering incense at President Ho Chi Minh Memorial, Memorial Memories of Martyrs' Heroes, attending the flag -raising ceremony and approving the team, attending the program "Walking for the beloved Truong Sa" at Truong Sa Lon Island.
For the first time coming to Truong Sa, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien - Chairman of the State Committee for Vietnamese people abroad, the head of the mission - shared emotionally: "Only when he arrived in Truong Sa, witnessed the efforts and silent sacrifices of the people in the distance, I really felt all the sacred meaning of the Fatherland.
Mr. Hoang Xuan Binh, overseas Vietnamese in Poland, shared: "I feel extremely touched and proud to attend the program. Through the trip, I feel the hard work, hardship, as well as the resilient will of officials and soldiers who are day and night to protect the island.
Not stopping at emotions, love for the Fatherland is expressed by overseas Vietnamese with practical actions. In this journey, overseas Vietnamese have donated more than 2 billion VND in cash, gifts and goods to programs such as greening Truong Sa, building a multi-purpose cultural house, purchasing necessities, medical equipment, and school supplies to officers, soldiers and people on the islands and DK1 House of Arms.

From 2012 to present, the total amount of money donated by overseas Vietnamese to Truong Sa and DK1 Drying House has reached nearly 30 billion VND, used to build sovereign boats, build civil works, contribute to buying gifts and necessities to send to the island sites.
The success of the "Great Solidarity train" once again affirmed the consistent policy of the Party and the State considering the overseas Vietnamese community as an inseparable part of the Vietnamese people, contributing to strengthening the great unity bloc in the spirit of conclusion of 12-KL/TW, showing more clearly the affection and responsibility of the Party and the State in taking care of the Vietnamese community in foreign countries.
The trip also contributes to affirming the affection, responsibility and contribution of overseas Vietnamese to the cause of national construction and development in general, as well as the cause of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland in particular.
