Severe heat forecast after storm No. 1 Wutip

Song Minh |

After storm No. 1 Wutip, severe heat occurred widely in many provinces of Vietnam and China.

On June 14, Typhoon No. 1 Wutip made a second landfall near the city of Guizhou in southern China's Guangdong Province at around 12:30 p.m. At landfall, the Wutip was weak, with winds of 108 km/h and a central minimum pressure of 980 hectarespasc. China's National Meteorological Administration has issued a yellow alert for Typhoon Wutip as the number one storm of the year brings strong winds and heavy rain to the southern regions of the country.

Meanwhile, some areas in northern China are experiencing severe heat. Temperature in northern China will sometimes reach 46.8 degrees Celsius in Hunanxi, Xinjiang. Temperature also reached 45.5 degrees Celsius in Toksun.

The weather forecasts from the National Meteorological Administration of China say that, except for some remote northern areas, the weather is expected to continue to be hot and sunny throughout June this year.

Severe droughts in northern China have severely affected the wheat crop right at the key growth stage, threatening the output of this essential food.

Although it is forecasted that there will be rain in the coming time, bringing some hope to the arid fields, the sudden transition from drought to heavy rain has the potential to cause flooding, landslides and widespread crop damage.

The intense heat has caused the temperature of asphalt pavements in many places to spike, reaching 70 degrees Celsius in some places. The National Energy Administration of China said that electricity demand this summer is expected to be about 100 gigawatt higher than last year.

On June 15, 15, from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, there will be hot weather, some places will be very hot with the highest temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places will be over 38 degrees, the lowest humidity is 50-55%.

The warning of hot weather in the Central region is likely to last for many days to come.
