The latest storm and low pressure forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on November 15 said that a new low pressure could form near the Philippines during the week of November 21 to November 27.
The bulletin said that this low pressure is likely to appear in the southeastern part of the Philippine Forecast Area (PAR) during the forecast period.
Forecasters in the Philippines say the new low pressure will move westward, making landfall in Mindanao, Visayas and Southern Luzon in the Philippines before entering the East Sea.
It is forecasted that this low pressure is unlikely to strengthen into a storm or tropical depression throughout the process from its formation to entering the East Sea.
PAGASA's November 15 bulletin said that the northeast monsoon, or amihan, along with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies and scattered showers to many areas in the Philippines.
PAGASA forecasts that the northeast monsoon will cause light rain in Northern Luzon, especially Batanes and Babuyan Islands. Meanwhile, the tropical convergence zone is forecast to bring cloudy skies with the possibility of high rainfall in Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA weather expert Loriedin De La Cruz-Galicia warned of the possibility of heavy rain in low-lying areas, especially high-risk areas.
