Contributing to building a strong Vietnam
Honored to be one of the collectives honored at the Vietnam Glory Program 2025, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Committee) has conveyed a message of gratitude and aroused the desire to accompany the nation of the Vietnamese community around the world.
Sharing with Lao Dong, Chairman of the Committee Nguyen Trung Kien said that the Committee would like to express our deep gratitude to overseas Vietnamese for their affection, dedication and heart always turned to their homeland. No matter where they are, the Vietnamese community still preserves their identity and makes practical contributions to the development of the country.
In the flow of national history, overseas Vietnamese have always been a sacred part of the blood and meat, playing an important role from the period of struggle for independence to the construction of the country today.
The image of overseas Vietnamese is increasingly present in the local communities - from scientists, businessmen, artists, to intellectuals, doctors, engineers. They not only affirm Vietnamese bravery, but also promote the image and values of Vietnam to the world.
This year's Vietnam Glory Program has the presence of many typical faces associated with the integration journey of overseas Vietnamese. The General Department of Defense Industry - where Hero of Labor Tran Dai Nghia, a overseas Vietnamese, returned to follow Uncle Ho's call, and was the first Director of the Department. And the meaningful symbol: Vietnamese-American female astronaut Amanda Nguyen brought 169 lotus seeds, a symbol of Vietnamese culture, into space.
Emphasizing the role of the Vietnamese community in the era of digital development and extensive international integration, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien said that the young generation of overseas Vietnamese - global citizens with Vietnamese blood - are an important force, continuing the tradition of their ancestors, contributing to building a strong Vietnam.
The Party and State always extend their arms, appreciate all contributions, listen to all constructive voices from the Vietnamese community abroad, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien quoted General Secretary To Lams speech to affirm his determination to accompany overseas Vietnamese in the upcoming journey.

Overseas Vietnamese are an important resource of the nation
In 65 years of construction and development, the work of overseas Vietnamese has achieved many important achievements. The Committee has advised on the development of a series of important documents such as Resolution 36-NQ/TW, Directive 45-CT/TW, Conclusion 12-KL/TW... clearly demonstrating the consistent policy of the Party and State to consider overseas Vietnamese as an inseparable part, an important resource of the nation.
The Committee also actively coordinates with relevant agencies to propose amendments to many legal policies, facilitating overseas Vietnamese to return to invest, do business, and live in Vietnam. Regulations on nationality, land, housing, entry and exit... are adjusted in the direction of openness, transparency and substance.
In addition, the work of great national unity and promoting overseas Vietnamese resources has made remarkable progress. Programs such as "Spring Homeland", " overseas Vietnamese return to Truong Sa", "Gio To Hung Vuong", intellectual forums, conferences of Vietnamese people around the world... not only connect the community, but also create an effective forum to listen to and absorb comments contributed to the country's development policy.

For example, at the 4th Overseas Vietnamese Conference Worldwide and the 2024 Intellectual Forum, more than 100 enthusiastic opinions from leading experts on artificial intelligence, semiconductors, digital transformation, etc. were compiled and sent to ministries and branches for research and acceptance.
The work of caring for overseas Vietnamese has also been constantly promoted. The legal situation and integration of the majority of overseas Vietnamese are increasingly stable. The Committee regularly monitors and supports overseas Vietnamese in difficulty in the areas through coordination programs with domestic and foreign agencies.
Preserving and promoting ethnic culture in the Vietnamese community far from home continues to be an important pillar. The project "Honouring Vietnamese in the overseas Vietnamese community in the period of 2023 - 2030" has created a great push to preserve and spread the mother tongue. Teaching and learning activities in Vietnamese are increasingly diverse, organized in many countries, with the participation of the community.
"Today's honor is also a reminder for us to continue to make more efforts in innovating the content and methods of operation, especially in the context of the country entering the era of integration and digital transformation. We are committed to continuing to promote our role as a common home for overseas Vietnamese, a trusted connection between the overseas Vietnamese community and the Party, State and people in the country. From there, we will continuously spread the spirit of great national unity, arousing pride and responsibility to build a prosperous and strong Vietnam in the new era" - Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien shared.
