According to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece, at noon on August 8, 2025, at Sarakiniko beach, Milos island, Greece, an incident occurred where two Vietnamese citizens fell into the sea. Although rescued by Greek authorities, the two citizens died.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Greece has urgently contacted and coordinated with local and domestic authorities and travel companies to investigate the incident, conduct citizen protection and contact the victim's family in Vietnam to visit and encourage.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece continues to closely coordinate with local and domestic authorities, guide related procedures and support families in arranging funeral arrangements for victims.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Greece warns citizens traveling to Greece that at this time there should be strong winds, do not stand close to the edge of the cliffs, boatets, and do not go to sea during thunderstorms to avoid unfortunate accidents.
