Donald Trump posted on social media X on August 12, before a direct conversation with Elon Musk.
Donald Trump returns to the platform that previously banned him just hours before Republican candidate in the 2024 US presidential election was interviewed by X's owner Elon Musk.
Billionaire Elon Musk restored Trump's account shortly after buying X in 2022.
Mr Trump's first post was a two-and-a-half-minute advertisement titled "Making America Great again" with no caption.
The post, which includes his presidential process and subsequent legal battles, attracted more than 4.8 million views in less than an hour, with more than 50,000 repostings and 21,000 comments.
Another post by Mr. Trump criticizes Vice President Kamala Harris, his opponent of the Democratic Party in this year's presidential election.
The former president also reposted an article from his official X account for the election campaign to promote his interview with Elon Musk on the platform. The interview was broadcast live on Mr. Trump's official account starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time on August 12 (7:00 a.m. on August 13, Vietnam time).
"This will be the interview of the century!" the post was written in color printed.
Elon Musk publicly supported Trump's re-election bid last month, right after the failed assassination attempt on the former president.
"A direct conversation with Mr. Trump will have no script and no topic limitation," Elon Musk wrote on August 11, adding that "the conversation will be very interesting" and encouraging users to post questions and comments.
August 12 was the second time Trump posted on X since his account was suspended following the Capitol Riots on January 6, 2021 and was reinstated in 2022.
His only post since then was on August 24, 2023, when he shared a portrait of himself after appearing in court in Atlanta on serious charges related to a failed bid to overturn a failed election in Georgia in 2020.
