President Trump declares the US completely controls the Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump declared that Washington is completely controlling the Strait of Hormuz, saying Iran is no longer capable of dealing with US forces.

On August 12 (local time), according to TASS news agency, in a post on the social network Truth Social, US President Donald Trump declared that US armed forces are completely controlling the Strait of Hormuz and the US will continue to maintain control over this strategic maritime route.

The US President also mentioned Washington's naval blockade of the area. According to Mr. Trump, this operation is being called a "steel wall" by many parties, and he declared that Iran is unable to do anything to deal with US measures.

Mr. Trump continued to assess Iran's military capabilities. According to the US President, Iran currently "has no navy and no air force". He also said that the remaining Iranian soldiers are not paid, and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has suffered serious losses and is withdrawing.

The US President also assessed that the leadership situation in Iran is still unclear. These are assessments made by Mr. Trump in his latest statement regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to TASS, the US and Israel began the conflict with Iran on February 28, 2026. By June this year, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding on the immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.

However, in the early morning of July 8, the US resumed large-scale attacks on Iran. Washington accused Tehran of violating the terms of previous agreements related to the Strait of Hormuz.

In a new statement, Mr. Trump continued to emphasize the ability to maintain US control over this maritime route, while affirming that Iran does not have enough military capabilities to challenge US operations.

Currently, Iran has not commented on the above information.
