Vietnam welcomes the immediate and unconditional ceasefire reached between Cambodia and Thailand.

On July 29, responding to a reporter's question asking to state Vietnam's reaction to the fact that on July 28, Cambodia and Thailand had reached an immediate and unconditional ceasefire agreement, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Thu Hang stated:

Vietnam welcomes the immediate and unconditional ceasefire reached between Cambodia and Thailand on July 28, 2025, which is an important step forward to reduce tensions and restore peace, stability, security and safety in the region.

Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized that Vietnam highly appreciated Malaysia's efforts, in its role as ASEAN Chair 2025, to actively promote and create a favorable environment for peaceful resolution of disagreements on the basis of the fundamental principles of international law, the United Nations Charter, the ASEAN Charter, the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty in Southeast Asia (TAC) and in the spirit of ASEAN friendship and solidarity, for the benefit of both sides and the region.

"Vietnam believes that the two countries will seriously implement the ceasefire agreement, continue dialogue, seek peaceful solutions to fundamentally resolve disagreements, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world" - said the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
