The event was directed by the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, organized by the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism in coordination with Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) and Nexus Communications Joint Stock Company.
The tournament is expected to attract 12,000 domestic and international athletes, competing in 4 distances: 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km.
The running route meets the standards of the Association of International Marathons (AIMS), passing through many typical landmarks of Sen Hong land such as Van Mieu Square, Cao Lanh Bridge, central streets and green-shelved roads.
The total prize value is up to more than 218 million VND, with a prize for the age group of 42 million VND.
In parallel with the competition, cultural, culinary and music activities will take place throughout 3 days, including the Western Food Festival, the Music Festival on the evening of October 11 with the participation of Isaac, Phuong My Chi, ... The Kun Fun Run Dong Thap Children's Run (800m) will also be held, expected to attract about 2,000 children.
2025 marks the first time the event takes place after the new Dong Thap province was established on the basis of merging the two previous provinces of Dong Thap and Tien Giang, becoming a symbol of connection and a new start for the region. The organizing committee committed to allocating a part of the revenue to preserve the Red-crowned Cranes - a rare ecological symbol of Dong Thap.
