People's Public Security Sports currently has three outstanding athletes including Ngan Ngoc Nghia (athletics), Nguyen Ngoc Tram (karate) and Trinh Thu Vinh (shooting).
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 2005 - August 19, 2025), let's look back at the outstanding results of these athletes.
Trinh Thu Vinh - talented Olympic shooter
Trinh Thu Vinh won fourth place in the women's 10m air pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics (France). This is the best individual achievement of a Vietnamese female shooter at the Olympics ever.
Shooter Trinh Thu Vinh is expected to achieve many high achievements at the ASIAD and Olympic arenas in the following years. In 2024, Trinh Thu Vinh topped the list of Outstanding Athletes nationwide and was the Outstanding Female Athlete of the 2024 Victory Cup.
In 2023, Trinh Thu Vinh won the bronze medal in the women's 10m air gun event at the Asian Shooting Championship. In 2024 and 2025, she won the gold medal in the men's and women's 10m air gun team event at the Asian Pistol and rifle Championship. Currently, Trinh Thu Vinh is participating in the 2025 Asian Championship held in Kazakhstan.
Trinh Thu Vinh said that the goal in 2025 is to strive to compete for the highest achievement at the 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand.
Nguyen Ngoc Tram - a strong karate fighter
Nguyen Ngoc Tram is an athlete of the Vietnam Karate Team ( kata - performance). She and her teammates won gold medals at the 19th ASIAD held in 2023 in China, when they performed excellently overcoming top competitors.
2025 marked a turning point for her when Ngoc Tram and her teammates won the gold medal in the women's team kata event at the 2025 Asian Karate Championship. The female player once discussed: "The gold medal at the 2025 Asian Karate Championship is an important result recognizing our efforts in training and competition. Before each tournament, I always keep my most focused".
The coaching staff of the Vietnam Karate Team assessed Ngoc Tram as in good form and capable of excellently performing kata techniques in individual and team events. This female athlete won the gold medal at the 31st and 32nd SEA Games in the women's team event. She is focusing on preparing professionally to participate in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
Ngan Ngoc Nghia - the fastest runner in Vietnam

Ngan Ngoc Nghia is the best athlete of the People's Public Security Sports at the 100m, 200m distance. Currently, Ngan Ngoc Nghia holds the national record for the 100m (10 seconds5) and 200m (20 seconds 74).
At the 2025 National Athletics Championship, Ngan Ngoc Nghia won three gold medals (x100m relay, 4x200m relay, 200m). This male athlete won the silver medal in the 200m event at the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam and the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. This year, Ngan Ngoc Nghia will participate in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand to continue competing to defend her current achievements.
