On March 4, the Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup 2025 volleyball tournament will have the opening round. The tournament brings together many strong teams, in which the women's event has 6 participating teams: LPB Ninh Binh, VTV Binh Dien Long An, Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement, Information Corps, Vietinbank, Geleximco Thai Binh.
LPB Ninh Binh is currently the defending champion. They are one of three women's teams that do not use domestic players in this tournament, along with the Information Corps and Geleximco Thai Binh.
Captain Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen said that was a difficulty for the team in the journey to defend the throne.
"In the Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup 2025, we have prepared quite carefully. Because the team is the defending champion, there is also pressure this year, but that is the goal for us to strive, try to defend our title. Our difficulty in this tournament is not having foreign players, 100% using domestic players", Bich Tuyen shared with the media.
"This is a tournament for teams to race, so there may be many changes in the squad, testing before the first phase of the national championship. LPB Ninh Binh's current squad has a number of young athletes competing. This is an opportunity for them to learn and bond more with the older sisters to best prepare for the national championship".
In the upcoming national championship, Bich Tuyen said that the coaching staff is looking for foreign players, but it is not clear which name will be chosen.
"I like to play with sociable and friendly foreign players so that I can easily discuss when competing, creating a harmonious atmosphere with the whole team. We need someone to share with me in the top and other positions in the first pass and defense", Bich Tuyen added.
LPB Ninh Binh will have the opening match against Geleximco Thai Binh in the group stage of the Hoa Lu Cup, taking place at 8:45 p.m. on March 4.
