After the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) agreed on the policy of adding a team from the First Division to compete in V.League 2025-2026 (in case Quang Nam withdraws), Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc club is emerging as one of the strong candidates for this position.
The team won the runner-up position in the 2024-2025 season, and also has a team of experienced players such as Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Minh Vuong and the leadership of coach Nguyen Viet Thang.
However, the possibility of Binh Phuoc being promoted to V.League is still uncertain, as it depends on the situation of Quang Nam - a team that is facing the risk of not being able to participate in the new season due to financial reasons.
Although there is information that Quang Nam has been proposed by the sponsor to support more than 150 billion VND, up to this point, the team has not yet sent an official confirmation document to VFF and VPF. According to the investigation, Quang Nam will officially respond to VPF next week.
In the current context, if the addition of the First Division team to the V.League is approved, it will not only help fill the void left by Quang Nam, but also bring more representatives to the Southern region, where only Ho Chi Minh City Police and Becamex Ho Chi Minh City participated in the V.League.
The presence of a locality with football potential like Binh Phuoc in the highest playground is expected to increase the attraction of the tournament, especially in the southern provinces - an area with many football lovers but few football teams to cheer for.
It should also be noted that this is not simply a matter of promotion or relegation, but also related to the long-term development strategy of Vietnamese football. Expanding the presence of V.League teams to many different regions can contribute to spreading professional football to a large number of fans, as well as stimulating the movement at the grassroots level.
Although there are still many factors that need to be clarified in the coming time, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc is showing that they are ready if given the opportunity. Whether they become a "new breeze" in the V.League or not will wait for the official decisions from VFF and VPF.
