The draw for the 33rd SEA Games women's volleyball tournament puts the host team Thailand in Group A with the Philippines and Singapore. While Group B includes the Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia women's volleyball teams.
The Thai women's volleyball team has won gold medals in the last 16 SEA Games, so their goal is nothing other than to defend their title. To complete this, they have a very detailed plan.
" Athletes are divided into two main groups to ensure the best preparation. The first group includes athletes competing abroad in the US, South Korea, Japan, France and Türkiye. The second group is currently practicing domestically, focusing on the recovery process after the World Championship and enhancing strength, endurance, speed and competition techniques.
International athletes will gradually return to the national team, starting with the US team around November 25, and the rest will return at the end of the month before starting team training. Although the time is limited, everyone is determined to defend their championship, said coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai of the Thai women's volleyball team.
According to Thai media, Mr. Kiattipong is well aware that the teams in the region are improving, especially important opponents such as Indonesia, the Philippines and the Vietnam women's volleyball team, which have prepared well and added many new players.
Therefore, the statistics department of the Thai women's team has had data from recent matches to study, plan tactics and analyze in detail the key players of the opponents. The process of studying opponents will begin in early November to ensure that all athletes have a good grasp of the information before forming a team for the 33rd SEA Games.
In addition to the goal of defending the championship, the Thai women's volleyball team also took advantage of the SEA Games as an important opportunity to develop young and potential stars, while creating conditions for them to compete. The national team will support young players, creating conditions for them to maximize their potential and abilities.
