President of the Thai Volleyball Association Somporn Chaibangyang said that the Thai volleyball teams are ready for the 33rd SEA Games, which will take place in Thailand from December 9 to 20.
He said that the draw results for both Thai men's and women's volleyball were favorable, there was nothing to worry about. As for the Thai women's volleyball team, they have won the SEA Games gold medal 16 times, so the team's goal is no different than to have the highest position for the 17th time.
To achieve this goal, the Thai women's volleyball team will send the strongest squad to participate. According to Mr. Somporn, some athletes of the team are practicing at the headquarters of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) in Huamark, while others are competing for international clubs.
The Association will call all athletes to the training camp two weeks before the SEA Games begin so that they can adapt and practice together.
The President of the Thai Volleyball Association added that for the men's team, most of the key players are already in Thailand and are practicing continuously without any problems.
Their goal is to at least reach the final round, because some men's teams in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and even Cambodia, have performed very well. Therefore, they cannot be subjective.

The draw for the 33rd SEA Games women's volleyball tournament puts the host team Thailand in Group A with the Philippines and Singapore. While Group B includes the Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia women's volleyball teams.
The main opponent competing for gold with the Thai women's volleyball team is Vietnam. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team entered the 33rd SEA Games with a series of impressive achievements in 2025. Thanh Thuy and her teammates won the runner-up position in the first stage of SEA V.League, then excellently overcame Thailand to win the second stage.
In addition, the Vietnamese team will continue to win the AVC Nations Cup 2025 and for the first time in history will participate in the FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship 2025.
However, with opposite Bich Tuyen uncertain to compete in the 33rd SEA Games, the opportunities for the Vietnam women's volleyball team will be significantly reduced.
At the 33rd SEA Games, volleyball has 4 gold medals: indoor volleyball (men's and women's teams) competing at Huamark's indoor court, and beach volleyball (men's and women's teams) competing in Chonburi province.
The Thai Volleyball Association aims to win 2 gold medals for indoor volleyball (women's team) and beach volleyball (women's team).
