New regime reported in detail
The Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports has completed the content of the Draft Decree "Regulating policies for members of sports teams participating in training and competition" to replace Decree No. 152/2018/ND-CP dated November 7, 2018 of the Government. The draft has been submitted to the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also consulted with ministries, branches and localities to ensure detailed contents to bring appropriate regimes for Vietnamese sports coaches and athletes. Recorded last week, the leaders of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports worked in detail to report with the representative of the Ministry of Justice on the appraisal of the Draft documents before submitting them to the leadership level.
One of the points that many coaches and athletes of national sports teams are interested in is whether the reward regime for SEA Games achievements will soon be implemented for the upcoming 33rd SEA Games. Vietnam Sports Management hopes that if the Decree is passed and applied from December 2025, the opportunity to receive SEA Games achievement awards under the new framework will be a reality.
In Decree No. 152/2018/ND-CP, the prize for SEA Games achievements is currently applied to each Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal, equivalent to 45 million VND, 25 million VND, and 20 million VND. In the Draft, the sports industry's proposal on the new bonus level for the results of the SEA Games will be increased to 60 million VND, 30 million VND and 25 million VND for each Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Bronze Medal.
Sharing at the announcement ceremony of the 2025 Victory Cup award, Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet said that the target of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games is from 80 to 100 Gold Medals. The 33rd SEA Games opened on December 9 in Thailand.
Focus on expertise
Vietnam sports teams preparing for the 33rd SEA Games are training in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Da Nang, Bac Ninh. Some national teams are training abroad. The correct reward for the achievements in the 33rd SEA Games is guaranteed by the sports industry in accordance with the regulations issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as the State.

The prize is a motivation to encourage the spirit of athletes and coaches. The sports industry strives to do the best in terms of regimes according to regulations".
The 33rd SEA Games continues to be a place where Vietnamese sports aim to achieve Gold Medals.
In the reviews, inspections of forces and professional forecasts reported by each department and national sports team, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism set the requirement to ensure the right person, the right expertise and maintain the medal achievement.
Decree No. 152/2018/ND-CP has been implemented since 2018. After 7 years, many coaches and athletes who have won SEA Games medals have enjoyed the regimes and policies applied from this Decree.
