Head coach of the Vietnam U21 Volleyball Team - Nguyen Trong Linh affirmed with Lao Dong: "The coaching staff has reported professional preparation work to the Vietnam Volleyball Federation.
We request the team to compete in the 2025 U21 World Youth Volleyball Championship with the highest spirit. The team does not focus on performance targets, avoiding pressure on players but will focus with all efforts".
According to coach Nguyen Trong Linh, the whole team has carefully prepared a tactical plan ready to compete.
The tournament will take place in the city of Surabaya (Indonesia) from August 7 to August 17. The Vietnam Youth Women's Volleyball Team is expected to visit Indonesia on August 5.
Currently, the team has 12 players practicing in the final stage before the competition, including Lai Khanh Huyen, Ngo Thi Bich Hue, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Dang Thi Hong, Le Nhu Anh, Nguyen Lan Vy, Nguyen Van Ha, Pham Quynh Huong, Pham Thuy Linh, Le Thuy Linh, Bui Thi Anh Thao, Ha Kieu Vy.
According to the draw, the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team will compete in Group A with Indonesia (host), Argentina, Serbia, Puerto Rico and Canada.
"We were shown video tapes to grasp the expertise of our opponents. All teams have good expertise and strong young players.
The Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team will try to compete in each match of the tournament," coach Nguyen Trong Linh added.
The U21 Vietnam volleyball team won an official spot to the 2025 U21 World Youth Volleyball Championship for the first time from the 5th place at the 2024 U20 Asian Youth Volleyball Championship. In the above tournament, Mr. Nguyen Trong Linh also held the role of head coach.
Before going to Indonesia to compete, the Vietnam U21 Volleyball Team competed to improve their skills at the VTV Cup 2025.
After that, some young players joined the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team to compete for 4th place in the Shanghai Future Stars 2025 International Tournament (China).
