Vietnam is the host of the second phase of the 2025 SEA V.League volleyball tournament when this round takes place from August 8 to August 10 in Ninh Binh. Currently, the teams are moving to Vietnam and actively preparing for this important match.
However, the controversy in the first phase still occurred, focusing on the final match between the Thai and Vietnamese women's volleyball teams. The first controversy came from the referee's decision in the second set. Accordingly, when the score was 19-21 in favor of Thailand, middle blocker Nguyen Thi Trinh had a delicate drop shot to send the ball to Thailand.
Pimpichaya rushed to save the ball, creating conditions for young striker Warisara to finish. Initially, the main referee reviewed the video, determining that the ball had touched the floor after Nguyen Thi Trinh's drop shot and the point belonged to the Vietnam women's volleyball team.

However, after the host Thailand expressed disagreement and controversy about this situation, the referee changed his decision and gave the team from the land of the Golden Temple a point. Although captain Thanh Thuy reacted strongly, approaching to discuss with the main referee, the decision was not changed.
This shot helped Thailand break away to win set 2, thereby equalizing 1-1 before coming back to win 3-2 against Vietnam.
This situation caused Vietnamese fans to disagree with the referee's decision as well as the way the Vietnam women's volleyball team played.
On Instagram, in the latest post by the Thai women's volleyball team's middle blocker Pimpichaya, when an account commented "play dirty", the player responded by saying "I am a real woman". This answer sparked a wave of backlash.
Vietnamese fans affirmed that Pimpichaya made a mocking and mocking comment to Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen - a star of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team who was involved in a gender dispute.

Pimpichaya had to close a comment on this post shortly after. However, in other posts, Vietnamese fans have continuously left questions about the previous comments of this middle blocker. Even many fans of the Philippines and Indonesia have expressed their support for Vietnam, affirming that gender-based mockery issues outside the stadium are unacceptable acts in professional sports.
In volleyball groups, a fierce stream of controversy is taking place between Vietnamese and Thai fans. This further heated up the heat of the second stage of the SEA V.League, especially the match between Vietnam and Thailand, higher than ever. This match takes place at 19:00 on August 10.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the excellent performance of the Vietnam women's volleyball team to respond to unnecessary comments from Pimpichaya.
