On May 9, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation held the Launching Ceremony of the Pool 9-ball Championship of Northern Clubs - STING Cup x VBSF 2025.
In its first organization, the tournament is considered the largest grassroots tournament in the history of Pool 9-ball billiards in Vietnam, with the goal of bringing this sport closer to a wide range of sports lovers, while creating opportunities to rub shoulders, discover and nurture potential players.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Deputy Head of high -performance sports department - Department of Sports, Vice Chairman of the Billiards & Snooker Vietnam Federation said: "The Club 9 -Ball Pool Championship is one of the important milestones, in order to improve the level as well as spread the spirit of sport, solidarity, passion to the community.
The Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation is committed to organizing a professional and fair tournament, while improving the quality of competition for athletes and spectators".
According to information from the organizing committee, the tournament attracted nearly 1,000 amateur athletes to register to participate and compete in 24 large and prestigious billiards clubs in Hanoi and Hai Phong.
The qualifying rounds will take place directly at clubs from May 13 to July 27, thereby selecting the 48 best athletes from 24 clubs to enter the final round.
According to the competition schedule, the final round of the tournament will be held from August 1-3, 2025 in Hanoi.
The tournament applies the Billiards & Snooker competition rules issued by the General Department of Physical Education and Sports in 2009 and additional updated regulations according to current international law.
The total prize value of the tournament is up to 350 million. In particular, the Top 8 best players in the final round will receive the opportunity to participate in the professional 9 -Ball male training course, under the guidance of the leading names in the Billiards Vietnam world such as General Nguyen Thanh Nam and young Bui Truong An - the new symbol of Billiards Vietnam.
