At the regular meeting of the third quarter of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Vietnam gave specific responses.
Ms. Yen said: "The records of domestic and international athletes are all kept in accordance with regulations. Before the competition, we all have personal records managed by departments, federations and strictly inspected.
However, each tournament has different regulations and the organizing committee requires additional documents. The Federation has worked closely with international federations as well as other organizations to submit complete documents.
Regarding athletes not allowed to compete, the Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports, the federation as well as the National Olympic Committee and other organizations such as international lawyers and international referees work to protect the legitimate rights of athletes in domestic and international arenas. Not only volleyball but other sports".
At the 2025 U21 World Cup, Dang Thi Hong was banned from competing because she was "not eligible to participate in the tournament" - according to the announcement of the World Volleyball Federation.
With this penalty, the 19-year-old striker will also not be allowed to compete in official tournaments of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV), before that is the second phase of the 2025 national championship.
Currently, Dang Thi Hong has returned to her home team Thai Nguyen. In addition to personal training, she also does online business on various platforms to earn extra income.
In the coming time, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and Thai Nguyen Club will create conditions for the main striker Dang Thi Hong to study at Bac Ninh Sports and Physical Training University, opening up opportunities to become a coach if she is determined to pursue a new path.
