According to the plan, the Vietnamese athletics team will participate in the 2025 Asian Championship, taking place in Gumi (Korea) from May 27 to May 31. All key event groups of Vietnam's athletics will participate in this tournament.
Information from the representative of the athletics team's coaching staff said that each athlete participating in the upcoming tournament in Korea must strive to get the best results.
It is known that because the tournament takes place in May, the Vietnamese athletics team will maintain professional training, without a 30.4/5. The team's coaching staff determined that this was an important accumulation moment, so no player took a break.
At the 2023 Asian Athletics Championship, the Vietnamese team won 1 gold medal (women's 4x400m event) and 1 bronze medal (women's 3-step dance event). In the 2025 tournament, although Nguyen Thi Huyen is no longer there, the women's 4x400m relay team is still a great hope for Vietnam's athletics.
The current women's 4x400m team includes athletes Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Quach Thi Lan, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh and Nguyen Thi Hang. These four athletes won the 2024 Asian relay championship in May last year. This is a fulcrum for the "golden girls" of Vietnam's athletics to strive to compete in the upcoming tournament.
In addition, athlete Nguyen Thi Huong is expected to continue competing in Korea in the women's 3-step dance event.
The 2025 Asian Athletics Championship is expected to have the participation of the continent's top athletes. Therefore, this is also considered a useful test for the teams, including Vietnam Athletics in the preparation process for ASIAD 20 to take place in 2026.
