Djokovic aims for 3 records at US Open 2026

Novak Djokovic can write records with a few conditions at the US Open 2026.

In the 2026 season, Novak Djokovic was very close to winning his 25th Grand Slam title. The Serbian player reached the Australian Open final earlier this year, but lost to Carlos Alcaraz in a 4-set match.

At Roland Garros, Nole was eliminated early, before returning to Wimbledon and only stopped in the grass court semi-finals against Jannik Sinner.

Only the last Grand Slam of the year, the US Open, and the 39-year-old legend are on the list announced on Tuesday (July 22). Many people believe this is the last chance for him to conquer his 25th Grand Slam title.

Besides hunting for his first Grand Slam title after 3 years, Djokovic also has many goals to strive for when returning to Flushing Meadows.

If Djokovic wins the US Open this year, he will become the oldest male tennis player to lift the trophy. He will break the record of William Larned, who won the championship in 1911 at the age of 38 and 11 months.

Djokovic can also break 2 more records at the US Open without even having to win the tournament.

He has 110 matches at the US Open, ranking second in the all-time list.

Only Jimmy Connors (115) is ranked above, but this achievement may be overturned at this year's tournament. Djokovic needs to play 6 more matches to officially take the lead.

That means, to become the player with the most matches in US Open history, Djokovic needs to reach the semi-finals.

If he can do that, the Serbian legend will definitely become the player with the most wins in US Open history. Because he has won 95 matches at the tournament in New York, 3 matches less than Connors.

Meaning if Djokovic reaches the 4th round - something he has done in 9/10 recent US Open appearances - he will own this record.

Djokovic has reached the US Open final 6 times, with 4 championships in 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2023.

Nole's win rate on hard courts in New York is 88% - win 95, lose 15.

The last Grand Slam Djokovic won was in 2023, also at the US Open.
