Vietnamese karate team has 2 official tickets to the 2026 World Team Championship

The Vietnamese karate team has been awarded 2 tickets to participate in the 2026 World Team Championship from the recent Asian competition results.

Two tickets of the Vietnamese karate team to the 2026 World Team Championship belong to the kata (performance) men's team and kumite (combat) women's team events.

At the 2026 Asian Championship, the men's kata team (including Giang Viet Anh, Le Nguyen Thai Hung, Pham Minh Duc, Pham Truong Giang) won a bronze medal. The women's kumite team (including Dinh Thi Huong, Hoang Thi My Tam, Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly, Nguyen Thi Thu) also won a bronze medal.

From the 2026 Asian Championships, the World Karate Federation has awarded slots to 20 teams participating in the events at the 2026 World Team Championships.

The tournament will take place in China from November 20 to 22.

The 2026 World Team Championship (World Cup 2026) organizes competitions in the men's team kata, women's team kata, men's team kumite, and women's team kumite events.

The top 3 teams in the kata and kumite men's and women's team events at the 2026 Asian Championship are officially awarded tickets to participate in the 2026 World Team Championship.

We once had a spot to participate in the 2024 World Team Championship in Spain.

At that time, the coaching staff registered a women's team kumite team to compete. Vietnamese karate athletes won a spot to participate in the 2024 World Team Championship when they won the championship at the 2023 Asian Championship.

At the 2026 Asian Championships (held in Indonesia), the Vietnamese karate team ranked 7th with 1 gold medal and 5 bronze medals.
