Vietnamese youth boxing team competes in the 2026 AFC U15 and U17 Championships

Vietnamese boxers (boxing) have arrived at the competition venue to prepare to enter the 2026 AFC U15 and U17 Championships.

This year, the 2026 AFC U15 and U17 Junior Championships are being held by the Asian Boxing Federation in Uzbekistan.

The host organizing committee and the Asian Boxing Federation agreed to conduct competitions for the U15 male and female youth group including weight classes: 30-33kg, 35kg, 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 58kg, 61kg, 64kg, 67kg, 70kg and over 70kg.

For the young age group U17 men and women, there are weight categories: 44-46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and over 80kg.

The official competition program starts from May 3rd to 16th. 5. The Vietnamese youth boxing team registered 21 players to compete this time. We are participating in some events for the U15 male, female and U17 male, female age groups.

Today, May 1st, members of the Vietnamese Youth Boxing Team have arrived in Uzbekistan. According to the program, the coaching staff will hold a technical meeting on May 2nd to draw lots for the competition events. At the same time, athletes will be weighed to ensure professional standard regulations.

This is the 2nd international tournament in 2026 to be held by the Vietnamese Youth Boxing Team. In February this year, we competed in the 2026 Futures Cup Boxing Tournament in Bangkok (Thailand).

The tournament was for the U19 age group and is a qualifying round for participation in the 2026 Youth Olympics. At that time, the Vietnamese youth boxing team had participated with 9 boxers.
