The Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Vietnam Athletics Federation decided to hire expert Valerii (Ukraine) to coach the women's 4x400m relay event at the Vietnam Athletics Team. Experts began working from September 2025.
At the 2024 Olympics, expert Valerii coached the women's 4x400m relay for the Indian athletics team. This team ranked 15th in the tournament. At the 19th ASIAD 2022, the Indian women's 4x400m relay team won the silver medal (achievement: 3 minutes 27 seconds 85).
The women's 4x400m relay team of the Vietnam Athletics Team currently has 4 key players including Quach Thi Lan, Nguyen Thi Hang, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh, Nguyen Thi Ngoc.
Experts will coordinate with domestic coaches to improve the expertise of athletes towards the goal of achieving high results at the 33rd SEA Games and the 20th ASIAD in 2026.
Currently, Vietnam's athletics is holding the championship of the women's 4x400m relay at the SEA Games. Athletes won gold medals with a time of 3 minutes 33 seconds 05 at the 33rd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia.
Head of the Athletics Department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports) - Mr. Nguyen Duc Nguyen - said that expert Valerii is familiar with Vietnam and should soon start professional work when the National Day holiday on September 2 has ended.
This is the second time, Vietnamese athletics hired experts for the 400m female athletes of the national team. Previously, Simeonov expert (Bulgaria) had participated in the training of a 400m female distance athletes of the Vietnamese Athletics team.
