Preparations are urgent
The X-2026 National Sports Games will be officially held from November 20 to December 12 at competition venues in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Dong Thap. The entire congress will have 973 sets of medals in 48 official sports.
Recently, the first 2 events (belonging to athletics) in the program of the X-2026 National Sports Games, the marathon - 42km men's and women's professional events, were organized. This is the beginning of this congress. Before issuing the framework regulations, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and specialized units of the Vietnam Sports Administration and representatives of the host city Ho Chi Minh City held many meetings, thereby reaching agreement on professional preparation, selection of competition venues and number of events. The top requirements and preparation work must be ensured so that the X-2026 National Sports Games takes place effectively and with value.
The first two athletics events attracted a moderate number of athletes: the 42km men's marathon with 14 athletes from 8 units, and the women's marathon with 8 athletes from 6 units. It is predicted that when the X-2026 National Sports Games takes place in November-December, the level of competition will increase. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has established the Organizing Committee, responsible for directing, operating and establishing sub-committees to serve the Games.
