On September 19, Mr. Hoang Van Phuc - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the organization of the Xth Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival (TDTT) at all levels in 2026 is being implemented according to plan.
To date, 130/130 communes and wards in the province have completed the organization of the Sports Festival, reaching a rate of 100%.
According to the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, localities organize congresses seriously and practically, selecting from 5 or more sports suitable to actual conditions.
The activities attracted a large number of officials, civil servants, armed forces, students and people to participate, contributing to promoting the sports training movement at the grassroots level.
For the X Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival in 2026, the Organizing Committee completed 14/18 sports, including 7-a-side men's football, volleyball, beach volleyball, shuttlecock kicking, traditional martial arts, badminton, table tennis, wrestling, stick pushing, crossbow shooting, crossbow, karate and vovinam.
The remaining four sports include athletics, swimming, chess and tug-of-war, expected to take place from September 24-30. 9.
In which, tug of war is organized at the Nghe An Provincial Sports Center; chess at the Shanghai Hotel; swimming at the Nghe An Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center; athletics at Vinh Stadium.
The opening ceremony of the Xth Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival in 2026 will take place at 8:00 PM on September 26th at Vinh Stadium, Thanh Vinh ward.
Previously, the preliminary rehearsal program was held on the evening of September 23 and the general rehearsal on the evening of September 24.
The opening ceremony includes parades demonstrating force, lighting traditional fires, opening ceremonies and art performances.
The parade participants include the army, police, workers, farmers, elderly people, ethnic minorities in mountainous areas, education, culture - sports, health sectors, youth unions, women, typical athletes and commune and ward athlete delegations and sectors.
The opening program will be broadcast live on Nghe An Newspaper and Radio - Television and digital platforms.
According to Mr. Hoang Van Phuc, the X Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival is an opportunity to evaluate the development results of the mass sports movement, and at the same time select outstanding athletes to supplement the force to participate in the X National Sports Festival in 2026.
Through the congress, Nghe An also aims to continue to expand the physical training movement among the people, preserve and develop national sports, traditional sports, and improve the quality of high-performance sports in the province.
