Gunma Green Wings Club failed to extend their winning streak at the 2025-2026 Japanese Women's Volleyball Championship when they lost 1-3 to Queenseis Kariya in today's rematch (October 13.
Thanh Thuy's team won 25-21 in the first set, but then lost the next 3 sets with scores of 15-25, 18-25, 22-25. This was a regrettable result as just one day before, Gunma Green Wings had a convincing 3-1 victory over this opponent.

In the return match, Queenseis Kariya made a personnel change when they sent Russian striker - Kuznetsova onto the field from the start. With strong attack power, fast and flexible ball handling, Kuznetsova became the spearhead to help Kariya rotate the situation.
As for Gunma Green Wings, despite not having good results, the team still played hard, especially from pillars like Niida and Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.
The Vietnamese hitter continues to be a prominent name on the field with 20 points scored, including 19 attack points (efficiency of 45.2%) and 1 blocker point. Thanh Thuy is still an important link in Gunma's attacking system, often trusted by the coach to complete the decisive phases.
She also coordinated quite well with Niida to create sharp pieces on the ball even though it was not easy to penetrate the opponent's defense.

This defeat is an early warning for Gunma GreenWings if they want to compete fairly this season. They will need to improve both their mentality and tactical flexibility.
For Thanh Thuy personally, although the home team failed, she continued to affirm her leading role and showed stability in her first season playing for Gunma.
