SEA V.League 2025 ended on the evening of July 20 with joy and pride for the Vietnam men's volleyball team. If last season, coach Tran Dinh Tien's students lost 4-6 matches and returned empty-handed in both stages, this year, they have made a spectacular progress when they won the bronze medal in the first stage and the silver medal in the second stage.
This is also the best achievement in the history of the Vietnamese boys participating in this tournament.
In the second phase taking place in Indonesia, the Vietnam team competed with a high determination, showing a face completely different from their own one year ago. In the final match, Ngoc Thuan and his teammates defeated the Philippines with a score of 3-1. This is also the first victory of the Vietnam men's volleyball team against this opponent after two years in the SEA V.League.
This result helped coach Tran Dinh Tien's team end the second phase with 3 wins and 1 loss, earning 8 points, behind the host team Indonesia (all 4 wins). The playing style of the Vietnamese team in this phase showed a clear improvement, especially in defense and step one - which was a weakness in previous tournaments.
Not only is SEA V.League 2025 sublime in terms of collective achievements, it also witnessed the brilliance of many individuals in the Vietnam national team. Among them, Nguyen Ngoc Thuan and Tran Duy Tuyen are still the two most prominent names when playing stably and persistently in both stages.
Nguyen Ngoc Thuan continues to affirm his status as one of the top strikers in the region when he was honored as "Best Striker" in both stages. Not only did he score effectively, he also played the role of spiritual leader, helping the team maintain a solid position against strong opponents.
Meanwhile, Tran Duy Tuyen also successfully completed a double individual title, with the award of "Best Middle Blocker" in both stages, thanks to accurate blocks and effective attacks.

In addition to Ngoc Thuan and Duy Tuyen, many other faces also left a strong impression. Setter Dinh Van Duy - who has just returned from injury - had an impressive comeback, contributing to organizing a healthy play for the whole team. Positions such as Pham Van Hiep, Quoc Du, Quan Trong Nghia also played solidly, showing the uniformity and depth of the Vietnam team at the present time.
Looking back at the SEA V.League 2025, it can be affirmed that this is a tournament that is a success beyond the expectations of Vietnamese men's volleyball. No longer the second-placed team like previous seasons, the players have played confidently, bravely and affirmed their new position in the Southeast Asian region.
The bronze medal (stage 1), silver medal (stage 2) and two prestigious individual doubles are worthy rewards for the tireless efforts of the whole team.
After completing their tasks at the 2025 SEA V.League, the players will return to the club, continuing to prepare for the second phase of the 2025 national championship.
What they show in the regional arena will certainly be an important spiritual boost, adding energy to aim for bigger goals in the future, especially the 33rd SEA Games taking place at the end of this year in Thailand.
