In response to a reporter's question about his feelings about participating in the tournament, head coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said: "We are very happy to be in Manila, Philippines. My team and I have had 4 weeks to prepare for the tournament. We are ready now."
Attending the press conference, on behalf of the Vietnamese women's futsal team, was captain Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang. She said she was very proud to participate in the Southeast Asian women's futsal tournament, organized for the first time by the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF), and hoped the tournament would be held annually.
“Currently, the Vietnamese women's futsal team is ranked 11th in the world. This is the result of collective efforts and is the motivation for us to develop further,” said Thanh Hang.
The Vietnamese women's futsal team arrived in Manila (Philippines) on November 14 and was arranged accommodation and a suitable training ground by the organizing committee, so it did not take much time to travel to the training ground or competition venue.
The 2024 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship includes 5 teams: Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia and the host Philippines. The teams will compete in a round robin to determine rankings. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals and finals.
On the first day of competition (November 16), 4 women's futsal teams: Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia and host Philippines will compete, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will compete on November 17 with Myanmar.
Thus, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and the coaching staff will have the opportunity to watch the first two matches to get more information about the opponents and prepare better.
