On the afternoon of June 25, Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee organized a conference to deploy preparations for the international friendly match between the Vietnamese national team and the Myanmar national team, taking place on July 18 at Thai Nguyen Stadium.
The conference was chaired by Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee Duong Van Luong, with the participation of representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), leaders of departments, branches, police, military forces and related units.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Duong Van Luong said that provincial leaders have agreed on the policy of coordinating with VFF to bring the match to be held in Thai Nguyen. This is the first time the national team has played internationally in the province, promising to bring opportunities for local fans to directly watch and cheer for the Vietnamese team.
Representative of VFF, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu said that the Federation has established a Steering Committee and a Match Organizing Committee to manage professional work, and at the same time requested Thai Nguyen province to soon consolidate the local Organizing Committee to coordinate the implementation of tasks according to the plan.
According to VFF, the preparation work focuses on four groups of contents including professional organization, ensuring security - safety and logistics, communication and ticket issuance, along with medical conditions, facilities, accommodation and training grounds for the two teams. The plan is built based on the experience of organizing international matches in the past and will continue to be adjusted to suit the actual conditions in the locality.
Concluding the conference, leaders of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee requested departments and branches to urgently develop plans to ensure security, traffic, health, electricity and communication; at the same time, promote guidance for fans on ticket purchases, regulations for entering the stadium as well as cheering culture.

The locality will also develop a reasonable traffic diversion plan, creating favorable conditions for people to come to the stadium to watch the match, and prioritize issuing tickets to serve Thai Nguyen audiences.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese national team and the Myanmar national team will be present in Thai Nguyen from July 15 or 16 to practice before entering the friendly match on July 18. This is considered an important general rehearsal for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team before the campaign to defend the ASEAN Cup 2026 championship.
