The Vietnamese boxing team has received good news when they won the right to participate in a final match in the 2026 AFC U15 and U17 Championships competing in Uzbekistan.

Vietnamese boxers (boxing) have reached 3 semi-finals at the tournament. The semi-finals of the men's and women's U15 and U17 age groups took place on May 11 local time.

Boxer Pham Hong Diem was the excellent athlete to win the semi-final of the women's 52kg weight class (U17). The young Vietnamese boxing athlete surpassed the host boxer Marjona Khudayberdieva (Uzbekistan) in this important match. She was scored by the referees to win 4-0 overall with scores of 29-27, 29-27, 29-27, 28-28, 29-27 respectively.

Winning in the semi-finals, Hong Diem will participate in the final of the 52kg women's (U17) category and stands before the opportunity to win a gold medal.

In the remaining 2 semi-final matches on May 11, martial artist Hoang Quynh Huong lost to Zhansaya Yerzhan (Kazakhstan) in the women's 80kg weight class (U17).

Meanwhile, martial artist Truong Khanh Huyen lost to Sohibakhon Khudoyberdiev (Uzbekistan) in the women's over 80kg weight class (U17). Losing the semi-final helped athletes Quynh Huong and Khanh Huyen receive a bronze medal at the tournament.

Participating in this tournament, the Vietnamese boxing team sent a force of 21 boxers who participated in the weight classes for men and women of each age group. However, the male players did not qualify for the final matches. The 2026 AFC U15 and U17 Championships will take place until May 16.
