Currently, the Vietnamese karate team has won 2 bronze medals respectively in the women's kata – individual performance (Bui Ngoc Nhi) and kumite – women's 68kg combat (Nguyen Thi Dieu Ly).
The sparring wrestlers of the Vietnamese karate team have finished competing at ASIAD 20.
However, the Vietnamese karate team will also participate in the last 2 events in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan) before returning to Vietnam, which are men's team kata and women's team kata.
According to registration, we compete in men's team kata with 3 players Giang Viet Anh, Pham Minh Duc, Pham Truong Giang.
The women's team kata team will compete with 3 players Bui Ngoc Nhi, Nguyen Ngoc Tram, Hoang Thi Thu Uyen.
Both events take place on the last day of September 22 of karate at ASIAD 20.
The Vietnamese karate team aims for the task of competing for a gold medal in the last 2 events.
At ASIAD 19, the Vietnamese karate team once won a gold medal in the women's team kata event.
Therefore, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation is very hopeful that the players will continue to achieve achievements to defend their No. 1 position.
Before the Vietnamese karate team participated in ASIAD 20, the karate department (Vietnam Department of Sports and Physical Training) called for socialized sources and had "hot" bonuses of 100 million VND, 30 million VND, 20 million VND corresponding to achievements of 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal at ASIAD 20.
