Trinh Thu Vinh competed in the women's 10m air gun event at the 2025 Asian Shooting Championship starting on August 19 in Kazakhstan.
Trinh Thu Vinh and teammates Nguyen Thuy Trang competed in the qualifying round but missed the opportunity to participate in the final. Thu Vinh reached 571 points, ranked 23rd and did not make it to the final of the shot. Shooter Nguyen Thuy Trang also scored 571 points, ranking 20th.
Two years ago, at the 2023 Asian Shooting Championship, Trinh Thu Vinh competed for a bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event.
Trinh Thu Vinh is a key athlete of the Vietnam Shooting Team. At the 2025 Asian Championship, Trinh Thu Vinh participated in three events. The chance to win a medal for the shooter is predicted in the 10m mixed-use pistol event for the men's and women's team (playing with Pham Quang Huy) will compete on August 20 (local time).
The Vietnam shooting team has 20 shooters participating in this Asian tournament. The coaching staff sent many participants to compete for medals and check their performance before attending the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand at the end of this year. However, the Vietnam Shooting Team also wants to grasp the opponents from the tournament to prepare for the 20th ASIAD in 2026.
