Domestic coffee prices
Today (July 21), the domestic coffee market did not record any new fluctuations compared to last weekend. In the Central Highlands provinces, popular coffee prices range from 93,500 - 93,800 VND/kg. Specifically, Dak Lak and Gia Lai are purchasing at VND93,800/kg, while Lam Dong is VND93,500/kg.
Compared to the lowest price recorded last week - about 91,200 VND/kg on July 17 - domestic coffee prices have now recovered to about 2,000 - 2,600 VND/kg. However, the current price level is still quite far from the peak set at the end of April 2025, when domestic coffee once reached 99,000 - 99,500 VND/kg, or nearly 6,000 VND/kg lower.
World coffee prices
Meanwhile, the world market recorded mixed developments. On the London Stock Exchange, robusta coffee futures for September increased by 36 USD to 3,348 USD/ton. Other terms also increased slightly from 34 - 38 USD/ton. This development shows recovery momentum after robusta just underwent an adjustment session this week.
In contrast to Robusta, arabica coffee prices on the New York exchange turned down. September term lost 3.6 cents, to 303.6 cents/lb. The remaining terms also fell by 1.8 to 2.75 cents/lb. This is the second consecutive decline for arabica, after the commodity peaked at more than 310 cents/lb in the session on July 16.
In general, in the past week, domestic and world coffee prices have experienced strong fluctuations. After falling sharply in the middle of the week, domestic coffee prices have recovered to over VND93,000/kg, while robusta also regained the upward momentum at the end of the week. arabica is under pressure to adjust after a series of consecutive increases.
Note: Domestic coffee prices are for reference only, depending on the quality of goods and the purchase and sale agreement of each locality.
