As of 1:30 p.m. today (November 22), the domestic coffee market continued its upward trend, increasing slightly by an average of VND200/kg, causing prices to fluctuate between VND115,000 - VND115,500/kg. The average coffee purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is VND115,500/kg.
Lam Dong is still the province with the lowest coffee purchasing price in the Central Highlands. Compared to yesterday's closing price, coffee prices in this region stood at 115,000 VND/kg, although it has slightly increased by 200 VND/kg.
In the same direction, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai province today ranked second on the chart with the price of 115,400 VND/kg.
Notably, Dak Lak and Dak Nong together hold the leading position in the province and city with the highest coffee purchasing price in the country, both increasing by 200 VND/kg, setting the mark at 115,500 VND/kg.
This week, green dominates the domestic coffee exchange. Up to this point, domestic coffee prices have increased by 6,200 VND/kg.
On the London and New York exchanges, the Robusta coffee market recorded opposite movements compared to Arabica coffee in all terms. The January 2025 contract decreased slightly by 0.23% (equivalent to 11 USD/ton), listed at 4,787 USD/ton. Similarly, the March 2025 contract decreased by less than 1 USD/ton, currently standing at 4,732 USD/ton.
On the other hand, the developments in the New York Arabica coffee market for delivery terms in December 2024 and March 2025 recorded an increase of more than 1% compared to yesterday's closing session, currently standing at 295.70 cents/lb and 293.15 cents/lb.
According to statistics from the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa), in the first half of November, Vietnam's coffee exports only reached 20,933 tons, equivalent to a turnover of 121.8 million USD, down 44.8% in volume but up 1.8% in value compared to the same period last year.
As of November 15, Vietnam exported 1.17 million tons of coffee with a turnover of 4.7 billion USD, down 13.5% in volume but up 38.1% in value compared to the same period last year. Of which, Robusta coffee reached 964,610 tons, turnover of 3.48 billion USD; Arabica reached 49,802 tons, turnover of over 202.4 million USD.
The high price has encouraged people to actively care for and protect this year's coffee crop. According to forecasts, there will be very little Robusta coffee from both Vietnam and Brazil in the coming time, due to the influence of many factors, including natural conditions and accompanying policies.
