World coffee prices
On the international exchange, coffee futures prices also had a session of decline due to liquidation pressure from hedge funds. Robusta on the London exchange fell 47 USD (equivalent to 1.34%) to 3,472 USD/ton, while Arabica on the New York exchange retreated 4.15 cents (equivalent to 1.51%) to 269.85 cents/lb.
The main reason for this decline comes from the weakening of the Brazilian Real, causing manufacturers in this country to boost sales to take profits. Although concerns about drought in the Central Highlands or the "Super El Niño" phenomenon are still latent, the market is currently prioritizing reactions with short-term profit-taking sentiment.
With a decrease of less than 1%, this is a completely normal change in a market trying to find a new balance point. Looking broadly throughout the week, the price is still in a stable accumulation zone.
