Domestic pepper prices
Today (September 1), domestic pepper prices remained unchanged after a sharp decrease in the previous session, trading in the range of 135,000 - 137,000 VND/kg.
At the end of the trading session last week, Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai all anchored at the threshold of 135,000 VND/kg.
In the same direction, Dak Lak announced a price of 136,500 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong, pepper prices are currently at the highest level of 137,000 VND/kg.
World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices are stable in all countries. Indonesia's black and white peppers are no exception, trading in the range of 6,897 - 9,443 USD/ton (equivalent to 181,116 VND/kg - 247,974 VND/kg).
In addition, the price of Brazilian black pepper sold to the market is 5,800 USD/ton (about 152,308 VND/kg). However, black and white Malaysian pepper still maintain the same price range, trading at high prices, respectively 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.
Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l are traded at 5,990 - 6,050 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 8,400 USD/ton (equivalent to 22,584 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
In the international market, export pepper prices are stable at a high level when supply is not abundant, but market demand is still in a waiting state, causing prices to fluctuate within a narrow range.
In the context of short-term prices not having new fluctuations, the market is paying attention to technical advances in pepper production in Brazil. Real data shows that the state's production, which contributes the most, has increased nearly 10 times in the past decade, reaching over 73,000 tons in 2024.
Crop yield here is maintained very stably at 3.6-4 tons/ha thanks to the formation of concentrated specialized farming areas and the synchronous application of sustainable technical standards.
