Domestic pepper prices
Today (August 31), domestic pepper prices remained unchanged after a sharp decrease, trading in the range of 135,000 - 137,000 VND/kg.
At the end of the trading session last week, Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai all anchored at the threshold of 135,000 VND/kg.
In the same direction, Dak Lak announced a price of 135,000 VND/kg.
Lam Dong province is currently offering to the market at the highest price of 137,000 VND/kg.
World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices are stable in all countries. Indonesia's black and white peppers are no exception, trading in the range of 6,897 - 9,443 USD/ton (equivalent to 181,116 VND/kg - 247,974 VND/kg).
In addition, the price of Brazilian black pepper sold to the market is 5,800 USD/ton (about 152,308 VND/kg). However, black and white Malaysian pepper still maintain the same price range, trading at high prices, respectively 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.
Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l are traded at 5,990 - 6,050 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 8,400 USD/ton (equivalent to 220,584 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
Statistics from the Vietnam Customs Department show that our country's pepper export activities still achieved positive results.
In the first 15 days of August 2026 alone, Vietnam successfully exported 10,553 tons of pepper, bringing in a turnover of 68.64 million USD. Compared to the same period in 2025, exports in this period increased by 5.9%, while the value increased by 3.6%.
Accumulated from the beginning of the year to mid-August 2026, the total volume of pepper exports of the whole country reached 179,344 tons, earning a turnover of up to 1.17 billion USD.
Notably, compared to the same period last year, export output increased sharply by 16%. However, the growth rate of export value only reached 10.6%, lower than the growth rate of quantity.
