Fake rumors, real consequences
In recent days, on platforms such as Facebook and Tiktok, clips and images have appeared with warning content about fake eggs and technology of forging double-tall eggs. Some accounts even identify fake egg factories, making consumers hesitant and not daring to buy eggs because they are worried about this information.
Ms. Pham Hoai Du (Dong Da District, Hanoi) shared: When I watch such videos, I feel very confused. Although it is an unverified source and has not seen the process of making fake eggs directly, recently there have been many cases of fake milk, fake medicine, etc. being exposed, so I think this can happen."
It is the hesitant psychology of consumers that has caused the egg production to decrease in recent days, directly affecting egg prices and farmers' livestock farming activities. According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Chairman of the Vietnam Poultry Association, false rumors have caused heavy damage to farmers. Specifically, the purchase price of chicken eggs at the farm is currently lower than the cost, at 1,400-1,500 VND/eggs. After the rumor appeared, it dropped to only 1,200-1,300 VND/fruit.
Talking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son affirmed that videos and clips pumping yellow blood or white blood into eggs are actually staged and cut to attract views for unhealthy purposes.
"There are also a few countries in the world that have experimented and made artificial eggs but cannot be completely similar to real eggs. Creating artificial eggs is also very difficult, so it will not bring economic value. I can confirm that Vietnam does not have, does not circulate and does not produce fake eggs as some social media accounts have confirmed," affirmed the Chairman of the Vietnam Poultry Association.

Strictly handle subjects who provide false information
In the face of the above situation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has also directed press agencies to make efforts to rectify and reject these untrue sources to protect the rights of the people.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien said: "These false rumors have negatively affected the domestic livestock industry and hindered export activities. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has sent an official dispatch to the Ministry of Public Security, requesting an investigation, review and strict handling of individuals/organization that have provided inaccurate information causing significant losses to the economic lives of farmers".
With the participation of the media and authorities, the Chairman of the Vietnam Poultry Association said that egg prices have gradually recovered, but it is only a very slight increase, an increase of about 100 VND/oc male. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son hopes that the authorities will soon have a final conclusion so that people can truly feel secure when buying additional eggs for meals, stabilizing the market.
At the same time, in the context of the development of social networks, an untrue cut-out information can spread at a dizzying speed, people need to be alert and highly vigilant against fake rumors, but seriously affect the lives of many people.
