Gold prices hit new peak after 8 consecutive weeks of increase

Gary Wagner, a commodity broker and market analyst, told Kitco that gold prices have increased for the eighth consecutive week, pushing the precious metal to unprecedented highs thanks to increased global uncertainty and central banks stepping up buying.

The April gold futures closed at $2,950 an ounce, up $26.3 a week and hit an all-time high of $2,973.4 an ounce on Thursday.

Gold's continued increase was largely driven by increased safe-haven demand, as geopolitical tensions and policy uncertainties grew. See more...

Cherry prices are 100,000 VND/kg cheaper than advertised for sale

Cherry is an expensive imported fruit, sometimes ranging from 400,000 VND/kg to 750,000 VND/kg in the Vietnamese market. This price makes cherries a luxurious gift, often only appearing on the dining table of families with limited means.

However, in this year's cherry season, Vietnamese consumers are quite surprised when cherries imported from Chile are widely advertised for sale at a cheap price of just over 100,000 VND/kg.

According to a survey by Lao Dong, Chilean cherries are being sold in the market at many different prices.

At the Winmart supermarket system, Chile red cherries are sold for about 259,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, at imported fruit stores in Cau Giay district, this fruit costs 250,000 VND/kg with size 26mm, 300,000 VND/kg with size 28mm. See more...
