Recently, when inspecting a sportswear store on Hoang Cong Chat Street (Phu Dien Ward, Hanoi), the authorities discovered an unlicensed facility and displayed 6,414 sets of clothes of unknown origin, showing signs of counterfeiting Nike, Adidas, Puma brands.

Accordingly, on the evening of December 8, the Inspection Team of the Market Management Department (QLTT), the Domestic Market Management and Development Department coordinated with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (PA05) - Hanoi City Police to conduct a surprise inspection of the facility owned by Mr. D.T.R. At the time of inspection, Ms. N.T.D.T was the representative according to the authorization letter.
The establishment is identified as operating under the form of a business household but cannot present a registration certificate according to regulations.
The store representative said that the selling point has been operating since mid-2025 but has not yet completed business registration procedures. The inspection team determined that the behavior showed signs of violating Article 7 of the 2005 Trade Law and Decree 168/2025/ND-CP on business registration.
Checking the goods, the authorities recorded: 5,200 sets of sportswear with the Nike brand, 1,200 sets with the Adidas brand, 14 sports shirts with the Puma brand.
Most of these goods are traded on e-commerce platforms. However, the representative of the establishment could not present invoices or documents proving their origin.
Printing, embroidery, packaging details... show many signs of not being in accordance with the original product's style. The initial inspection team determined that the goods had signs of counterfeiting trademarks under the Law on Intellectual Property. In addition, the facility also did not post prices according to the provisions of the 2023 Price Law.

Mr. Tran Viet Hung - Head of Market Management Department said that the inspection was launched to effectively implement Resolution 397/NQ-CP dated December 5, 2025 of the Prime Minister on combating, preventing and repelling smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights by 2030.
"The discovery of thousands of sets of clothes suspected of counterfeiting major brands at a small business location shows that the subjects have taken advantage of the business model to operate beyond control. This is a sign that the Hiding of counterfeit goods businesses is getting more and more sophisticated, said Mr. Hung.
All products suspected of counterfeiting trademarks have been temporarily detained. The case is being further verified and clarified by the authorities to be handled according to the provisions of law.
