On June 11, Market Management Team No. 1 (Hanoi Market Management Department) supervised the removal and destruction of elements violating industrial property rights for two business households that violated the ST25 rice brand.
At the time of inspection, Nam Dinh Ngon Rice Business Household (address: Kiosk K99, VL1 area, Trung Van market, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi) was fined 24 million VND and forced to remove and destroy all violating goods. Specifically, 80 packs of finished rice and 125 packaging shells with signs of counterfeiting the brand "Specialty product Soc Trang Rice ST25 - Premier-class fragrant rice".
Similarly, business household Tran Van Chuyen (SonO rice store, No. 543 Vu Tong Phan, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi) was also fined VND 3.6 million and forced to destroy 10 rice bags and 40 packaging shells with signs of infringing on intellectual property rights.
The packaging in violation did not clearly state the name of the manufacturing organization, but used the "S" sign, the "T" sign and the star image - the identification factors of the brand that had been granted a protection certificate.
The penalty decisions were issued based on the conclusion of the industrial property appraisal of the National Institute of Intellectual Property, after the market management force conducted an inspection and submitted appraisal samples in accordance with legal procedures.
The supervision of the elimination of violating factors has been strictly implemented in accordance with regulations, to ensure that products violating intellectual property rights do not continue to circulate on the market.
This is a necessary measure to protect the legitimate rights of brand owners, prevent unfair competition and raise awareness of law compliance in production and business activities.
