According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in February 2026 is estimated at 4.71 billion USD, down 28.4% compared to the previous month but up 1.9% compared to the same period last year.
In general, in the first 2 months of 2026, the total export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached 11.3 billion USD, an increase of 17.1% compared to the same period last year. This result shows that the export activities of the industry continue to maintain positive growth momentum right in the first months of the year, despite fluctuations in the world market.

In the export structure, agricultural products continued to account for the largest proportion with a value of 6.09 billion USD, an increase of 17.1% compared to the same period last year. Forestry products reached 2.82 billion USD, an increase of 7.4%; seafood reached 1.76 billion USD, an increase of 23.3%.
Notably, livestock product exports reached 140.7 million USD, a sharp increase of 84.3% compared to the same period last year. In addition, the production input group reached 482.8 million USD, an increase of 51.7%; salt exports reached 2.3 million USD, an increase of 69%.
Looking at the market structure, Asia continues to be the largest export region of Vietnamese agricultural, forestry and fishery products, accounting for 45.5% of the total market share. Followed by America with 21% and Europe with 15.7%. Two regions with smaller market shares are Africa and Oceania, accounting for 2.2% and 1.4% respectively.
Compared to the same period last year, Vietnam's exports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products to Asia in the first 2 months of 2026 increased sharply by 27.7%. Exports to America increased by 10.4%, Europe increased by 12% and Oceania increased by 32.4%. The African market alone recorded a decrease of 19.6%.
By specific market, China continues to be Vietnam's largest consumer market for agricultural, forestry and fishery products with a market share of 22.9%. Second place is the United States with 18.7%, followed by Japan with 7.2%.
Notably, exports to China increased by 55.9% compared to the same period last year, showing that demand from this market is recovering strongly. Meanwhile, exports to the United States increased by 9.2% and Japan increased by 9.8%.
The above results show that Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery export picture in the first 2 months of 2026 continues to have many bright spots. In which, strong growth in the Asian market, especially China, is becoming an important driving force to promote the entire industry's turnover.
However, the fact that export turnover in February alone decreased quite sharply compared to the previous month also shows that export activities are still affected by seasonal factors, market demand and fluctuations in international trade. In that context, maintaining growth momentum, expanding markets and increasing added value for each commodity group will continue to be a requirement for the agricultural sector in the coming time.
