According to Central Party Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, the working trip of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was a great success with outstanding results.
First, political trust is enhanced. This is the first time the Prime Minister has visited France since the two countries upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (October 2024), the first visit to Sweden in 6 years and the first time a key Vietnamese leader has visited Estonia since 1992. The countries highly appreciate the role and position of Vietnam, and hope to maintain the momentum of relations, strengthen and deepen bilateral relations. Thereby, expanding cooperation with the EU and promoting the role of a bridge between the EU and the Indo-Pacific region.
Second, the working trip brought new vitality to traditional cooperation. The Prime Minister and leaders of the countries agreed to create a breakthrough to effectively implement the EVFTA Agreement, increase autonomy, and improve the investment environment. Many major cooperation orientations on defense, energy, infrastructure, education, culture, sports, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, etc. have been agreed upon.
Third, shaping a new cooperation framework. France has strengths in telecommunications, aerospace, renewable energy, manufacturing technology...; Sweden stands out in innovation, information technology, green economy...; Estonia leads in digital transformation and e-government. Vietnam and Sweden have become industry strategic partners in science, technology and innovation. France and Estonia are ready to cooperate with Vietnam in digital transformation, innovation and green economic development.
Fourth, attending the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3), the Prime Minister co-chaired the Summit on continental Basins and spoke on behalf of ASEAN. Vietnam has made 15 voluntary commitments on marine governance, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable development. Vietnam's viewpoints and proposals are agreed and highly appreciated by many countries and international organizations.
Fifth, the parties achieved a common awareness of the importance of maintaining a peaceful, secure and stable environment; resolving disputes by peaceful means on the basis of international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Vietnam has received close cooperation support from countries on international and regional issues.
At the 3rd UNOC Conference in Nice, the Prime Minister had many meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and leaders of countries and international organizations. Countries highly appreciate Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements and strong changes.
With 84 intense activities, it can be affirmed that the Prime Minister's working trip has achieved many results of great significance and substance, thereby renewing and deepening bilateral relations between Vietnam and other countries, for the benefit of each side and contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world. These are also important bases, motivations, and inspirations for Vietnam to continue to realize the determination and development aspirations of the nation, maximize international resources to serve the country's development goals in the new era, be friends, trusted partners, active and responsible members of the international community.
In the coming time, based on the common perception and orientation, Vietnam will actively and closely coordinate with partner countries to implement the cooperation agreements reached within the framework of the visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
