On October 25, continuing the 10th Session, the National Assembly held a separate meeting on personnel work under the direction of Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
The National Assembly listened to a report summarizing the opinions of National Assembly deputies discussing at the delegation on the election of the Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment of the 15th National Assembly.
The National Assembly voted to approve the list to elect Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai as Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment of the 15th National Assembly with 442/442 delegates in favor.
With 434/434 delegates in favor, the National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution of the National Assembly to elect Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai as Chairwoman of the 15th National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment.
New Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Nguyen Thanh Hai was born in 1970, from Hanoi; political qualification: Senior. She is an Associate Professor, Doctor of Physics; Member of the 12th and 13th Party Central Committee; National Assembly delegate of the 13th, 14th and 15th terms.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, who used to work in the education sector, was the youngest female Associate Professor in Vietnam in 2007.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai has held the following positions: Deputy Director of the Vietnam Youth Academy; Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office; Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Juvenile and Children; Head of the Petition Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
On May 23, 2020, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai was transferred and assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term. In October 2020, she was re-elected Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On June 25, at the 7th Session, the National Assembly conducted the process of electing additional members of the 15th National Assembly Standing Committee.
Accordingly, the National Assembly elected Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, National Assembly Delegate of the XVth tenure of the Thai Nguyen National Assembly Delegation, to hold the position of Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee of the XVth tenure.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man then signed and issued Resolution No. 1075/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the appointment of the position of Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee under the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly.
Accordingly, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly was appointed to the position of Head of the Delegation Work Committee under the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly.
After that, the Delegation Work Committee (under the National Assembly Standing Committee) was upgraded and renamed the National Assembly Delegation Work Committee.
