On the morning of December 3, at the Headquarters of Lao Dong Newspaper (Hanoi), a meeting of the Preliminary Council and the Newspaper Subcommittee on Reporting (reporting, investigating, reflecting...) took place within the framework of the National Press Award on Party building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award) in 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), Member of the Presidium of the VGCL, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper - Head of the subcommittee chaired the meeting.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Award and members of the subcommittees. The meeting aims to select excellent works in the category of printed newspapers in the reporting category (reporting, investigating, reflecting...) to propose to the final round of this year's Golden Hammer and Sickle Award. The preliminary jury is made up of experienced journalists with a high sense of responsibility and enthusiasm for the profession.
According to preliminary assessment, press works participating in the 2025 Golden Hammer and Sickle Award have many outstanding points in quality. The works participating in this year's contest are commented to be diverse in themes, genres, and content of rich papers, reflecting many different aspects of Party building work.
Many works analyze in depth hot topical issues in Party building and rectification, associated with the implementation of Party resolutions.
Many works are a series of articles with many periods expressing the elaborateness in the way of expression. These series of articles have large capacity, rich documents, systematically reflecting issues, creating a strong media effect.
After 10 editions (since 2016), the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award has increasingly had a strong influence. The award not only honors outstanding journalism works, but also contributes to orienting the content of propaganda about Party building work in a profound and effective way.
It is expected that by mid-December 2025, the preliminary judging of the categories will be completed, ready for the final round and towards the 10th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award Ceremony - 2025 (expected to be held on the occasion of the Party's Founding Day anniversary February 3, 2026).
