- After 50 years since the liberation (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025), Binh Dinh has transformed strongly, from a purely agricultural province to a dynamic economic center of the region.The economy has grown impressively, GRDP in 2024 will reach 5.3 billion USD, ranking 25th out of 63 provinces and cities.People's lives have continuously improved, the poverty rate has decreased to 1.01%.
Infrastructure will develop synchronously with 7 industrial parks and 38 industrial clusters.In 2024, Binh Dinh attracted 61 new investment projects with a total registered capital of more than 13,800 billion VND.Tourism broke out, welcoming 9.2 million visitors, revenue of VND 25,500 billion, in the first quarter of 2025 reached 3.3 million, revenue of more than VND 7,880 billion.
Binh Dinh is also a land rich in identity with 152 ranked relics, including 2 special national relics. The province also owns 6 typical intangible cultural heritages such as Han Boi, Bai Coi, Vo Truyen Tay Son...
The achievements after 50 years are a solid foundation for Binh Dinh to continue to reach out, aiming to become the development center of the region.
In recent years, Binh Dinh has had many breakthroughs in infrastructure, industry, tourism... Please tell us more about this resilience?
- Determining transport infrastructure as a breakthrough, Binh Dinh has invested in a series of strategic projects, creating momentum for industrial, tourism and service development. By choosing "going first, opening roads", the province has been investing in the construction of many key routes such as: Coastal route, road from airport to Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, road to Becamex-VSIP Economic Zone, North - South Expressway... In 2025, the province will continue to coordinate the implementation of Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway and upgrade Phu Cat Airport.
Thanks to synchronous infrastructure, Binh Dinh currently has 46 industrial clusters (38 clusters have been put into operation, occupancy rate of 80.5%), 7 large industrial parks with high occupancy rate.
What is the development orientation of the province in the coming period, especially in the face of the need for digital transformation, green economy, and sustainable growth?
- Entering 2025, Binh Dinh has identified this as the time to "accelerate and make a breakthrough", creating a solid foundation to realize the goal of becoming the leading developing province in the North Central and Central Coast regions by 2030.
Binh Dinh not only sets growth targets but also aims for a green, sustainable economy. Processing industry, tourism, seaport services - logistics are gradually becoming pillars, while high-tech agriculture opens up many prospects. The province also cooperated with VinUni University to develop a green transformation project for the 2025-2030 period, promising to make Binh Dinh a bright spot for economic development associated with environmental protection.
Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductor industry, and cybersecurity are no longer distant concepts but are gradually being realized, with the goal of the digital economy accounting for 30% of GRDP by 2030.
Which strategic breakthroughs will Binh Dinh prioritize to create strong changes in the new development period?
- Entering a new development stage, Binh Dinh focuses on building a synchronous and modern socio-economic infrastructure system. Strategic transport routes not only connect within the province but also expand regional connections, especially with Phu Cat airport and Quy Nhon port.
Binh Dinh promotes green transformation, digital transformation to restructure the economy and improve competitiveness.
The province is also determined to improve the Competitiveness Index (PCI) and governance efficiency (PAPI), while building a comprehensive digital government, digital economy and digital society.
The province focuses on training highly skilled workers in the fields of information technology, engineering, high-tech industry, high-tech agriculture and tourism.
