On July 26, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to present the results of the DNA assessment to identify the remains of martyrs to the martyrs' relatives.
Authorized by the Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh - Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) - attended and chaired the conference.
Reporting on the results of the analysis of martyrs' remains, Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Van Loi - Director of the Military Forensic Institute - said that from July 11 to July 22, the Military Forensic Institute coordinated with the Department of Meritorious People (Ministry of Home Affairs), the Department of Policy and Social Affairs (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) and relevant authorities, localities, and units to review and collect information on the graves of martyrs and their families. The Institute coordinated with local authorities and police in Nghe An, Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa provinces to collect relatives to serve the process of matching DNA data.
After that, the Institute received, preserved samples, managed information; established DNA assessment teams for remains and relatives of martyrs. The results of the DNA comparison determined the identities of the 6 martyrs as follows: Martyr Vu Hong Doanh, martyr Pham Van Dien, martyr Nguyen Huy To, martyr Le Quyet Chien, martyr Ngo Van Phong and martyr Le Dong Coi. From the above results, the authorities carried out procedures to hand over to the martyrs' relatives.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh expressed his deep gratitude to the heroes, martyrs, war invalids, and sick soldiers who devoted and sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people; and shared the silent sacrifice and irreparable losses of families and relatives of martyrs, war invalids, and sick soldiers over the years.
According to Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, the identities of the 6 martyrs are determined not only as a technical result but also a commitment to morality, a sacred gesture expressing the gratitude of the Party, State, Army and people to the martyrs.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh emphasized: "When handing over the DNA assessment results to each family, we felt overwhelming emotions after years of waiting. From today, the soldiers of the past are no longer "unknown martyrs", but have returned in the arms of love, cared for in the incense and incense, resting in the motherland with full identity and homeland.
We would like to share the difficult and painful years that the families have silently endured. I respect the resilience and unconditional love of mothers, wives, fathers, children... who have kept the trust for so many years waiting for the day to meet again".
Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh acknowledged the support and active coordination of agencies, localities, families and relatives of martyrs in providing information, biological samples, creating conditions for DNA testing to be conducted smoothly, effectively and humanely.
